Voice Memo to Text

Convert iPhone voice memos, Android recordings, and quick audio notes into readable text. Upload the audio file, review the transcript, then copy or download it. Free to use, no account required, and files are deleted after processing.

Turn quick voice notes into text you can actually use

Voice memos are great for capturing ideas, but they are hard to scan, quote, search, or paste into another tool. Sceneform turns a recorded memo into text so the useful parts are visible without replaying the whole file.

  • Works with common audio files, including iPhone M4A memos.
  • Works best when speech is clear and background noise is low.
  • Use the output for notes, scripts, follow-ups, captions, or content drafts.

How to convert a voice memo to text

The easiest workflow is to export the recording from your phone, upload the audio file here, and copy the transcript once it is ready. There is no live recording step inside this page.

  1. 1

    Export the memo

On iPhone, open Voice Memos, tap Share, then save the M4A file to Files, AirDrop, email, or cloud storage.

  2. 2

    Upload the audio

Choose the memo from your phone, laptop, or cloud folder. MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM are supported.

  3. 3

    Review the transcript

Sceneform converts spoken words into readable text. Check names, numbers, and technical terms before using it.

  4. 4

    Copy or download

Copy the text into your notes, script, email, brief, or content planner, or download it as a text file.

A small tool for a very common creator habit

Many ideas start as rough audio: a note after a call, a thought on a walk, a hook spoken into your phone, or a quick reaction to a video. Transcribing the memo turns that rough capture into something you can edit, search, and reuse.

It is especially useful before writing scripts, making content briefs, summarizing calls, or moving ideas into Sceneform projects.

What voice memo transcription is useful for

A voice memo transcript is most valuable when the recording is a raw capture: useful enough to keep, but too slow to replay. These are the common jobs this page should solve quickly.

Content ideas

Turn spoken hooks, rough scripts, voice notes, and reactions into text you can edit into posts, newsletters, videos, or briefs.

Meeting follow-ups

Record a quick recap after a call, then convert it into action items, decisions, and follow-up notes.

Interviews

Transcribe short interviews or source notes so you can pull quotes and check wording without scrubbing through audio.

Study notes

Convert lecture reminders, study group recordings, or spoken summaries into notes you can search and revise.

Personal reminders

Move errands, ideas, and voice reminders into written systems where they are easier to sort and act on.

Drafting out loud

Speak the messy first version, transcribe it, then clean the text into an outline, script, or message.

Voice memo, speech, video, or YouTube transcript?

Pick the tool based on the source file. This page is for uploaded audio notes and phone recordings. Other routes are better when the source is a video file or a YouTube URL.

ToolBest forUse when
Voice Memo to TextPhone voice notes, M4A memos, quick ideasYou recorded something in Voice Memos or another recorder app and need readable text.
Speech to TextGeneral audio transcriptionYou have an audio recording that is not specifically a phone voice memo.
Video to TextUploaded video filesYou need a transcript from MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, or another video file.
YouTube to TextYouTube URLsYou want text from a YouTube video instead of uploading a file.

How to get a cleaner voice memo transcript

Record close to the microphone and avoid rubbing the phone case or table.

Choose a quiet room or move away from traffic, fans, music, and other voices.

Pause briefly between thoughts so the transcript is easier to edit later.

Spell out names, product terms, acronyms, or unusual words if they matter.

Use one speaker at a time when possible. Overlapping speech is harder to transcribe cleanly.

Review exact quotes, numbers, dates, and high-stakes information before sharing.
