How to choose an output format
A converter changes compatibility, container, codec, or file size. It does not magically add quality that was already removed from the original. Start from the best source file you have, then pick the output based on where the file goes next.

What the converter can and cannot do
Good converter copy should save users from wrong expectations. A format change can fix compatibility, but source quality, codec support, file damage, and platform upload rules still matter.
Compatibility, not restoration
Converting MP3 to WAV can help with editing, but it will not restore audio detail removed by MP3 compression.
Keep a source copy
Save the original file before converting, especially when you are preparing a file for publishing or client work.
Match the destination
